Type Maps Based on Words Found in Books

Hello! My name is Monika and I love to read and make fan art inspired by my favorite books. Using hand-lettering and Phrenology (the art of mapping personality traits), I've created an ongoing series of illustrations called Type Maps. Using a list of words and quotes pulled from books I’ve read, I “map" them on to a main character or recognizable symbol that represents the story as a whole. Sometimes I'll make one for each of the MCs and even exile a villain from my art because they don't deserve the attention!

I began my career as an illustrator many lifetimes ago and have owned my own design studio for decades. I am a voracious reader and my love for books knows no bounds, but I mostly read romance (historical, contemporary, queer), historical fiction, fantasy and YA. Type Maps are from some of my all-time favorite books by my all-time favorite authors.
